Patch notes · changes worth checking before a run
See the selected patch changes that affect the cards and builds on this site. Each note links to the official patch page and to the related units, gear, leaders, or builds when those pages exist.
The official patch page is the complete changelog. This page keeps the updates that make a practical difference to the units, gear, leaders, and build ideas shown here.
Campaign army validation now catches missing kit-hosted traits and leftover body-hosted traits more reliably. Gear-stamped kit traits are checked against the correct bound item.
Why it matters here: This is an internal campaign-kit validation update; the published note does not list player-facing unit, gear, or board value changes.
The official note lists internal tools and test updates.
Why it matters here: No player-facing stat, item, or rules value was published in this update.
Profiles can load a shared match when it is available, with related login and connection handling changes.
Why it matters here: No published unit, gear, leader, or board value changed in this update.
The official notes cover demo limits, match sharing, and supporting connection changes.
Why it matters here: No published unit, gear, leader, or board value changed in this update.
Arrowheaded Gerry's Iron trait was renamed Hardened. On lethal damage, Hardened spends 2 AR and leaves the unit at 1 HP; kit traits now travel with gear.
Why it matters here: Update any Gerry build that relied on the former Iron wording. This site now records the published Hardened text.
Oxblood, a +12 HP ally potion, and Thin Blood, a -9 HP enemy potion, were added. HP-changing potion tooltips and bottle art were also updated.
Why it matters here: The Gear list records the locally verified Oxblood card. Thin Blood is retained in the patch history until its official standalone artwork can be verified for a card page.
Bow and Lord's Bow no longer use shield-rig flipping, and Zealous received dedicated shop and action poses for melee and bow styles.
Why it matters here: This changes presentation only. No leader stat, trait, or equipment value was published in this note.
Shop and inspect previews can now use a dedicated still pose separate from combat. The training final Horror was reduced from 40 HP to 25 HP.
Why it matters here: Screens and cards may use a different non-combat pose than battle art. The only confirmed gameplay number in this note is the final training Horror's 25 HP.
Combat sounds now preload for live and multiplayer fights, reducing delayed or missing first-hit, death, and movement cues on slower connections.
Why it matters here: No unit, gear, or board-rule value changed in this patch.
Giant Peasant pose definitions were cleaned up so more states fall back to its intended default idle hold; internal hit-sink logic and content data were also cleaned up.
Why it matters here: No public unit-stat or item-value change is documented in this patch. Strategy pages remain on their prior value baseline, while presentation references can use the current art state.
Combat, shop, and inspect scenes gained richer carry poses, attack recovery, clearer damage floaters, and new death art; Flinging now grants +1 RNG, applies -35% SPD, and still stuns on hit for one second.
Why it matters here: Any Flinging equipment or build note must use the new range and speed tradeoff. The remaining documented changes are presentation and content-catalog updates rather than broad balance claims.
Leader kit displays now use 0 for the stat dumped by esoteric traits, featured loadouts reflect hire requirements, and Outcast no longer grants bonus armor to isolated allies.
Why it matters here: Recheck leader-card comparisons and any plan that assumed Outcast granted armor to isolated allies; the leader itself retains the armor benefit.
Bone Host child and dog leader traits were revised, two named leaders changed, and Feast received a base-unit fix.
Why it matters here: Bone Host leader planning should be rechecked before carrying an older trait assumption into a run.
The Rod of Many Tales artwork dimensions were corrected for in-game display.
Why it matters here: No documented balance impact.
Hammer and Rod art changed; Bian of the Eagle support values and Rod evaluation behavior were updated.
Why it matters here: Shop and AI evaluations should better recognize spell-focused Rod pairings.
Rod of Many Tales and Bian of the Eagle were added alongside staff changes and stun-movement timing fixes.
Why it matters here: INT builds gained new gear choices while movement after stuns became more consistent.
Frostfall, Ward, several units, charms, and combat presentation received balance or clarity changes.
Why it matters here: Older Frostfall timing and several unit baselines should not be treated as current.
